New Personalised Name Bracelet

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

Sunday night again! just cannot believe how fast the days go I am sure they used to go really slow when i was younger. This weekend has gone really quick as i have been building a sandpit for my boy, its all finished now just need some sand. I think i got my measurements wrong its huge but i don’t think my lad will complain though. I decided to build him one as the ones i have seen in the shops are pretty small and look lie they will snap after a week so i built one that will last for years lol. We didn’t get much time this weekend to work on the business but we did manage to get our new personalised bracelet on the website which we are very pleased about. All this miserable weather doesn’t help because i like to take my photo’s in natural light and it wasn’t easy on Friday but managed to get a few but i will take some new ones when the weather gets better.Personalised Chunky Chain Bracelet 2Our personalised necklace is one our best sellers and we have had a few enquiries about personalised bracelets as not everybody likes to were necklaces so we got to work designing a bracelet which as you can see is very elegant and stylish. For the bracelet we didn’t think a thin chain would work we wanted one that would stand out and have a look of quality so we went with a chunky cable chain which suits the design. The tags are the same ones we use for the necklace to keep it in the same range. We used an adjustable toggle because we get a lot of customers who are not quite sure what size they are so we thought this would be the best option. On the toggle we put a lovely cluster of charms which consist of a sterling silver angel wing, a sterling silver padlocked heart and a gold vermeil key which keeps with the theme of the bracelet which is for love of the people past and present in your lives weather it be new babies, family members or friends who have touched your lives this is a great gift that you can keep and remember the good times when you look at there names. OK that’s enough of the Mills and Boons stuff that’s all from me tonight but hopefully will be blogging tomorrow, i wish you a bonne nuit.

Gold Bird’s nest Pearl Earrings & Necklace Set

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

We had a customer contact us last week to see if we could make her wedding  jewellery for her, she really liked the bird’s nest pearl earrings and necklace set which has been one of our best sellers over a long period of time. The bride to be wanted to have the set in gold which we had wanted to do for a long time but like a lot of things it gets further down the list as more and more ideas come along so its was nice to finally get the chance to make them. Sue decided to be the first one to try it as the last thing you want is to waste good gold filled wire like i would! lol. The gold wire was a lot tougher than the sterling silver wire to bend so it took a bit more concentration but they turned out great and i must admit they look better in the gold than silver to me. Gold Fill Bird's Nest and Pearl Earrings 3Gold Fill Bird's Nest and Pearl Necklace 3Gold Fill Bird's Nest and Pearl Necklace and EarringI really love this set in gold and will be pushing it to become one of our best sellers because it just oozes elegance especially with the beautiful pearls that we use with the glow of the luster emanating from them is mesmerizing. A truly wonderful piece that has a simplistic look but would make any bride to be look elegant walking down the aisle.

Jewellery update

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Evening all, I see we are back to the normal British summer time with all the rain. I think I am having one of those periods in life when things continue to go wrong if that’s the right word. I have been laid up for the past week with a  very sore back thanks to my little boy in which i have not been able to do any work up until yesterday when i managed to get a full day in the workshop and finish a few projects i had going  which is very rare for me or Sue as we have our 2 year old son to look after and the fact that Sue is 7 months pregnant so time is a little short. Well that’s enough of the sob story and back to the jewellery,  I managed to make the necklace and earrings to go with the new pearl and gemstone bracelet which is made with freshwater pearls, aquamarine rondelles and blue iolite mystic quartz and which is on our front page of the website so please check it out. I have no photo’s to show you I am sorry to say but with all the bad weather and my bad back i haven’t been able to get outside which is how i like to take my pictures if possible as jewellery looks so much better in natural sunlight but even that doesn’t do the gemstone jewellery justice.  I also finished off one of my wedding/bridal necklace and bracelet combo’s again i have no photo’s but hope to show them tomorrow. I have also nearly finished my necklace and earrings to go with my fairy-dust bracelet which is made with rose quartz onion briolettes, pink mystic topaz and white freshwater pearls but i must have been having another off day as i ordered the wrong size rose quartz which is what i have been waiting on and because i buy most of my luxury gemstones abroad it takes time to see if i can get them and then get them shipped. We have been working on a new personalised bracelet which should be ready for photo’s sometime this week and hopefully we will have it for sale on the website as well as i think its a lovely piece and i cannot wait to get it on. Its pretty hard to write about jewellery when you do not have the photo’s to show people as your describing it so i will finish there for tonight and hopefully be back blogging tomorrow with some pics, But i will leave you with a few of our holiday pics so i bid you bonne nuit.DSC_0062DSC_0059DSC_0102

Handmade Personalised Latin Love Bracelet

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Well at last I can show our first piece of many from our personalised latin love range which I am well chuffed about. This has been a long time in the running and very time consuming to design and make but we got there in the end although there is a long way to go as I have other pieces to make but its a start. Firstly I used a sterling silver cable chain that is nice and chunky and has a good weight to it. I then hand pierced a heart shape from 1mm thick silver sheet and etched the phrase ” Te Amo” which translates into ” I Love You”. I then hand pierced 4 discs in which 2 were 16mm and the other two were 18 mm, On the 18 mm discs i have etched love phrases in latin. On one disc it has the phrase ” Amor vincit omnia” which translates in to ” Love conquers all” and on the other disc it says ” Amor aeternus” which translates in to ” Love forever”. The two 16mm discs are for you to put your own personal mark on with two initials in a beautiful font. I then blacked up the etched text and initals and put them in the tumble polisher for a nice shine to them. This bracelet looks great, is very elegant and would make a great treasured keepsake for someone special.  Further details on this bracelet are available here.Handmade Personalised Latin Love Bracelet 3

Personalised Silver Etched Initial Cufflinks

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Just finished putting these wonderful Personalised Silver Cufflinks on our website. We have been going as fast as we can to get personalised pieces designed and made but unfortunutaly it just doesn’t work like that you always run into problems when you do compilcated work but half the fun is problem solving, but we have got this pair finished and ready for sale. These cufflinks have an 18mm diameter and are 1.5mm thick that give it a nice weight to it but also keeping that elegant look. I love the font we used for the cufflinks but we also do them in three other fonts to give people a choice. We have about 2-3 other pairs of cufflinks that we would like to do, with different shapes and with some words on as well so we cover a wide range of topics such as weddings, fathers day, to putting children’s names on them there is so much you can do with personalised jewellery. I wasn’t convinced with personalised jewellery but now I have got my hands dirty I love it.

Personalised Etched Initial Slinky Bracelet

Friday, February 12th, 2010

We have lots of new personalised pieces near completion and lots of good ideas for others but i will take one piece at a time as I am the kind of person who wants everything to happen all at once. I have wanted to make this piece for a long time now and finally i can show it off with pride. I wanted to do the slinky a bit different to what everyone else was doing as they all look a like so i have gone for 6mm high rondelles which are 3mm wide to give it that sturdy look without taking away the elegance of the bracelet which i think makes it look even better. I wanted to make this piece a treasured keepsake for people so i thought i would attach etched initial charms so you could chose to have loved ones initials to make this a personal joy to wear but also have the elegance of a bracelet you could wear at a wedding for instance. The disks are  12mm in diameter and have a beautiful elegant font which took a bit of time to chose as there were so many. All the beads and charms are attached to strong stretchy elastic to create the illusion bracelet. Suzanne has been busy in the workshop trying out the new tumbler and she has done a fantastic job of the etched charms as they look superb because its not been easy in the workshop with the cold weather even though we have a heater in there.Handmade personalised sterling silver slinky braceletPersonalised sterling silver slinky bracelet 2Personalised sterling slinky Bracelet 1

Funky Wire Wrapped Earrings

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

One of my latest designs are these beautiful oxidised sterling silver wire wrapped earrings as shown in the pictures.DSC_0145DSC_0151I love designing wire wrapped pieces as you can do so much with them and make it your own piece. Iwanted to make a piece which was different and unique which is what IndiviJewels is all about and also to design a piece with these lovely AAA flawless Teal Blue Mystic Topaz faceted briolette drops that are absolutely stunning. I handmade the teardrop frame and then wire wrapped it and attached wire wrapped swirls on the inside of the teardrop then finished it off by making a loop for the ball stud to attach to but carried it down the teardrop a little way so as not to make it look too bereft at the top.  I then oxidised them to highlight the wrapping. The earring size is 4cm approx long and 1.5cm at its widest point.

Personalised Jewellery At Christmas Time

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

Well Christmas is upon us again and just time for a quick blog before getting back to the workshop.  Our new website is up and running and looks great just needs a few tweaks.  Our silver personalised necklaces are taking off really well – we started off with just the one name tag but we were getting messages sent to us asking for two name tags then low and behold it has been three and four name tags so its getting rather busy but I’m not complaining as we must be doing something right!Personalised Three Charm Necklace

We were hoping to bring out a few more personalised items such as the etched charm bracelet and the memories bracelet but we will have to put them back for the start of next year as we simply do not have the time right now but we really want to expand this range as I love making the personalised jewellery as it gives you a feeling of  great fulfilment that the piece you have made for someone is a treasured keepsake forever.

AAA Gemstone Bracelets

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I’ve got a backlog of blogs to write but the wife and I have just been to busy at the moment so I’m just going to write about the two gemstone bracelets I have made recently.  I have wanted to make some jewellery for a while now  with AAA gemstones that I had sourced. It’s always a bit of a risk picking gemstone colours from photographs but I think I got it right with both bracelets.  AAA Gemstones

The first bracelet I made was called Winter Berries which comprises of  Amethyst, deep red Garnet, and pink Sapphire and it took many hours to make as there was a lot of wire wrapping involved. The base for this handmade sterling silver gemstone bracelet is a sterling silver belcher chain, with each gemstone meticulously wired to each of the links of the chain upon handmade fine silver head-pins. The intoxicatingly dramatic royal purple Amethyst onion briolettes are hand wrapped onto the chain and measure 5-6 mm. The deep red Garnet briolettes also hand wrapped are interspersed along the chain and measure 5 – 5.5mm. The beautiful natural pink Sapphire rondelles are interspersed and are attached by handmade fine silver head-pins and measure 3 – 4.4 mm.  The bracelet is fastened with a gorgeous sterling silver lobster clasp with a lovely sterling silver flower accompanying it.Handmade Sterling silver amethyst garnet and sapphire gemstone bracelet 1

The second bracelet I made I called Fairydust as it is so delightfully graceful and elegant and waiting for a princess to wear, this was put together using Rose quartz, white round pearls and Pink Mystic Topaz. The base for this handmade sterling silver gemstone & pearl bracelet is a sterling silver belcher chain, with each gemstone & pearl meticulously wired to each of the links of the chain upon handmade fine silver head-pins. The intoxicatingly tender Rose quartz onion briolettes are hand wrapped onto the chain and measure 5 – 6mm. The beautiful white round pearls are attached using handmade head-pins and measure 3 – 4mm.  The pink Mystic Topaz are also attached using handmade head-pins and measure 3.5mm to give the braclet a contrasting colour. The bracelet is fastened with a gorgeous sterling silver lobster clasp with a lovely sterling silver rose charm accompanying it.Handmade sterling silver rose quartz mystic pink topaz and white round pearl bracelet 4
