Happy New Year

January 19th, 2011

Well this is only my second day back I decided to take an extra week off to recharge my batteries. I thought one of the first things I should do is get blogging again as I haven’t been able to due to work and time off. I would just like to say to all our customers thank you very much for buying from us we have had record sales for last year and over the xmas period it was just mad. Its funny how things work out as our two best sellers were our two newest products which were our personalised golf ball markers and our personalised children’s bracelet. We are looking forward to the year ahead as we have some new designs ready to go just waiting for some good weather so we can take some pictures. We also have some great new design ideas in the pipeline just hope we get time to make them!

The New Iridana Necklace

November 15th, 2010

Managed to get an hour to get some photo’s of the new Iridana necklace which has been on my to-do-list for some time. I have never really been happy with the cluster necklace as part of a set, I do like the necklace and I hope all the people that purchased one will agree but I wanted to keep the theme of the design like the bracelet and earrings so I went back to a simple but very effective design of the bracelet. The coin pearls we use are incredible, they are so round and smooth and they have a vibrant colour to them that just makes them glow. Now that the set is designed in the same way I think any bride would look breathtaking with this jewellery set on.

Children’s Friendship Bracelets

November 10th, 2010

Thought I would sneak in a quick blog while my kettle is boiling. What a day I haven’t stopped all day due to the volume of children’s bracelets that have been selling like hot potatoes. If I knew they would be this popular I would have made them years ago LOL.

Another Etsy treasury

November 10th, 2010

Just a quick post as we are starting to get really busy already with the run up to Xmas starting already. I received an email from one of my fellow Etsy chums who kindly put me on her treasury – http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4c9abbeaf3d86d911c127495/charmed?index=1 – The piece that she had chosen was one of our top sellers which is our Personalised silver name charm with gold vermeil heart. I do appreciate it when people take the time to say a few good words about our designs it just gives you a little smile and a boost so thanks to wildstitches.

Mummy’s Little Stars

November 4th, 2010

We are always trying to think of something different to design and make and sue has had this idea for sometime of a mummy’s little stars range. Well with all the numerous ongoing projects we have she finally managed to get a bit of time to work on this idea. Sue decided to design the bracelet first using sterling silver belcher chain for the base. We then have one big star with the stamped initial M on it for mummy and then add four little stars with the stamped initial of  the customers choice weather it be their kids or other family members. The bracelet is finished off with a carabiner clasp to make this a beautifully simple sterling silver personalised piece that is affordable and still makes a treasured keepsake.

Golf Ball Markers

October 26th, 2010

Lets get started this morning with a blog before time just disappears as usual. We have been busy working on a few gifts for men as we currently do not have any and have been asked on numerous occasions if we cater for men so now we have decided to design a few pieces. The first design we thought of making was golf markers as so many men(and women) play golf and this was just before the rider cup was due to start but due to the birth of our son we had to put it on the back burner. We had hoped to have this ready at the same time as the rider cup as there would be an added interest in golf so we missed out on that one.  Like most personalised gifts there is so many different words or phrases to use, So we decided to make a couple of  golf markers with text on them to give people an idea of what that can have on them. The disk is sterling silver and measures 26mm in diameter so we get a lot of text on them and then there is the back of them to use as an added option. This is a fantastic little gift for those of you that struggle to find something for the men in your lives, husband, brother, boyfriend, son. This is not just for men as so many women play golf but people do not tend to struggle for gifts for women as much as men but these golf markers are for everybody. The etched text is so sharp and crisp due to our new process of making our personalised pieces that it just adds to the quality of these great designs.

Personalised Gold & Silver Ring Bracelet

October 19th, 2010

Well where do I start, Its been a bit mad and scary the last 3 weeks but trying to get life back to normal as possible again after the birth of our son Euan. We had to take him into hospital when he was just 5 days old as he had a virus which caused him great pain so we had to close the shop down for the last 2 weeks and now we have reopened with loads of emails to catch up on which brings me to our new personalised gold and silver rings bracelet which we have had a lot of interest in and some kind comments and reviews. This beautiful bracelet was kindly added to a blog by Miss Frekkles who is a fantastic knitter and can be found on etsy and folksy.

White Pearl & Mixed Gemstone Cluster Bracelet

September 28th, 2010

I love mixing all my pearls and gemstones altogether to see what I can come up with. Autumn will be upon us soon so I was looking to design a piece that fits the time of year so I ended up with this beautiful sparkling bracelet if I do say so myself. Each pearl & gemstone has been meticulously wired to each of the links of the chain upon handmade fine silver and sterling silver head-pins and wire. The round white freshwater pearls are 5.5-6mm to give it a fantastic stylish look. The forest green mystic quartz measure 7.5 -8mm and are interspersed along the bracelet which makes it glow and also gives a beautiful contrast to the pearls. The rubillte garnet measure 4.5 – 6.5mm and are a fantastic deep red wine colour and are also interspersed along the chain. This bracelet is very eye catching with its contrasting colours without being over powering and has a warm and glowing look about it.The bracelet is fastened with a gorgeous sterling silver lobster clasp with a lovely sterling silver leaf charm. I am working on the earrings and necklace to complete this fab autumnal set.

Photographing Jewellery

September 27th, 2010

Since we had the website re-vamped we have been looking into photographing our jewellery on new backgrounds. I cannot tell you how hard it is to photograph jewellery, We must have thousands of pics that we have taken but cannot use due to them just being rubbish lol. We have tried numerous props but they do not work for every piece due to different colours but then last week we were doing a bit of shopping in one of those “we have it all shops” and we came across a big pad full of fantastic looking vintage textured paper. It has different colours with different patterns but because its thick with a texture to it its great for jewellery. So we have been busy snapping away to get some fresh pics whichork and look fab. It makes it so much easier to get good pics without spending half  a day wondering what colours and props to use so here is our latest rework which is our beautiful Rosa bracelet on a delicious pinky background.
